Kids VALLEY Future Learning Project: the company started to dispatch its developers to the classes of elementary schools in Shibuya

Programming Summer Camp 2019

The GMO Internet Group is working on the Kids VALLEY Future Learning Project that provides career education support to raise IT personnel by developing programming education curricula for students at elementary and junior high schools, providing support in the field of education, and allowing students to visit the companies in cooperation with Shibuya-based Tokyu Corporation, four IT companies (CyberAgent, Inc., DeNA Co., Ltd., mixi, Inc., GMO Internet Group, Inc.), and the Shibuya City Board of Education.

We launched this project in 2019 and carried out Programming Summer Camp as a one-day programming event in 2019, and lots of children participated in the event.

This year, we have held an online event Programming Summer Camp and started to dispatch our lecturers to the classes of elementary schools in Shibuya as programming education will be compulsory at elementary schools.

Our developers visited the classes of elementary schools and provided the students of each school the opportunity to learn the basics of programming, such as sequence, selection, and repetition, through the visual programming tool Scratch.
