GMO OLYMPIA, a fitness gym inside the office: the opening event

GMO OLYMPIA, a completely free full-scale fitness gym inside the office

At GMO Internet Group, employees work from home on some days and report to their offices to do the work on other days. One of the issues that arose while continuing to work from home was a lack of exercise.

Therefore, we have opened a full-scale fitness gym GMO OLYMPIA in Shibuya FUKURAS, where GMO Internet Group’s second headquarter is located, aiming to solve the issue of the lack of exercise of our partners and improve their performance.

GMO OLYMPIA has a variety of the latest machines, which can be used free of charge by partners, for various purposes, from aerobic exercise to strength training.

In addition, a reservation system based on face recognition and a vending machine that allows partners to purchase beverages, foods, and amenities that are said to be effective for training have been introduced, so GMO OLYMPIA is a gym where anyone can enjoy exercising.

GMO OLYMPIA opening event

On Friday, July 1, 2022, we held the opening event of GMO OLYMPIA, and live streaming was made available for the company so that many partners could participate.

At the event, in addition to explaining the details of the facilities such as the locker room, office kitchenette, and resting room, we demonstrated how to purchase protein-rich products from the cashless vending machine and make reservations with face recognition.

In addition, we have invited a trainer from the agency of professional soccer player Shinji Kagawa, who is a brand ambassador of the GMO Internet Group, to recommend training for each purpose.

He actually used the machine to explain how to train each part of the muscle and offered guidelines for people who were not accustomed to exercising, and the partners became more aware of the importance of effective and safe exercise and understood more about the machines.

After that, the trainer played matches (stationary bike workouts) with about 30 partners selected from more than 100 applicants.

The GMO Internet Group will continue to promote group-wide health management with the aim of further improving performance by maintaining and improving the health of its partners.
