Global Web Launches Electronic Catalog ASP Service
Create and edit an electronic catalog online from ￥1,995 per month
 
Tokyo – July 3, 2007 - - GMO Hosting & Security consolidated subsidiary Global Web today officially launches its Electronic Catalog ASP Service. The Electronic Catalog ASP Service allows users to easily and automatically create Flash®  electronic catalogs from an administration screen on the Internet. GMO Hosting & Security is part of the GMO Internet Group. 
 
Electronic Catalogs
An electronic catalog is an electronic document that lets the user view catalogs, magazines and other printed material over the Internet in the same way as they would flip through the pages of a book. Website links, moving pictures and music can all be included in the document making electronic catalogs a dynamic form of content presentation. Because electronic catalogs are viewed over the Internet they are a convenient, paperless way to reach large numbers of people. More and more companies are publishing their corporate and product brochures as electronic catalogs over the Internet.
However, until now electronic catalogs have generally been made to order by digitalizing customer-supplied data. This can cause difficulties when information in electronic catalogs needs to be frequently updated. 

Electronic Catalog ASP Service
Global Web is now launching an Electronic Catalog ASP Service that allows customers to easily create and edit electronic catalogs as required. Customers can create and edit Flash® electronic catalogs over the Internet simply by uploading magazine or brochure data from their administration screen. 

Service Features
1. Create and Edit Electronic Catalogs from an Administration Screen on the Internet
 At the administration screen, enter your customer ID and password then simply upload images (JPEG) to create your electronic catalog. You can also go to the administration screen when to update or completely replace pages.
2. Low Monthly Fees
Our electronic catalog creation and editing system is available from ￥1,995 per month. No server is required and there is no need to build a system because it is provided as an ASP service.
3. No Need to Select a Viewing Environment or Install Plug-ins
Electronic catalogs are created using Flash® files that are viewable on over 98% of Internet-enabled computers in Japan. This means that no plug-in is required to view electronic catalogs on most computers. 
4. Two Skins Designed by Professional Designers 
Customers can select from two professionally designed skins for the frames in their electronic catalog. They can also incorporate a logo or other image into their chosen skin. We will be adding more skins in the future.
