GMO Internet Launches Next Generation VPS Brand ConoHa
New service features IPv& compatibility and local network option  
 
Tokyo – July 4, 2013 – GMO Internet, Inc. today announces the launch of new Virtual Private Server hosting brand, ConoHa byGMO (http://www.conoha.jp/). ConoHa was developed with the aim of creating a next generation VPS hosting service that combines the low set up and running costs of traditional VPS hosting with a more flexible hosting environment. Features include iPv6 compatibility, multiple IP address compatibility, local network option for building multi-layer architecture via local network.    
 
ConoHa represents a new era of hosting, and aims to meet the needs of individualweb service developers and Internet start-ups with reasonably priced VPS solutions that are robust enough to host web applications and Internet services.   
Traditional VPS is a popular tool for building web services, but once traffic reaches a certain level services can’t be scaled out any further and developers have no other option but to switch to cloud based hosting and face a significant increase in costs. ConoHa was developed to address this limitation is existing VPS services.        
 
The name ConoHa is a portmanteau of “Compute Nodes with Hi-flexible Architecture”CohoHa is VPS hosting with added flexibility.
Free Setup and Low Monthly Fees
Setup is free for all ConoHa service plans, and monthly fees start from 976 yen /month for 1GB of memory. The simple pricing structure makes it easy to budget expenses, and users can rest assured there will be no unexpected charges on their monthly invoice.

Stable VPS Built on Proven Virtualization Technology
ConoHa architecture is built on KVM virtualization technology and open source software, OpenStack Grizzly. GMO Internet is already one of Japan’s most experienced providers of KVM based virtual machines through its successful cloud hosting service for game apps, GMO AppsCloud.

IPv6, Multi-IP Address Compatible
ConoHa is IPv6 compatible. All plans include one IPv4 address and 17 IPv6 addresses as a standard feature.
Rental DNS Record Configuration, an IPv6 compatible service provided by GMO Internet domain registration brand, Onamae.com is also available as a free option. Combining this option with ConoHa enables a smooth transition to an IPv6 network, and simplifies testing of IPv6 compatible services. 

Local Network Function
The ConoHa local network function makes it possible to take VPS servers offline and create a local network. Connect public-facing web servers to offline database servers via a local network, and create two layer or three layer architecture.
