GMO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION Launches 2 New ASP Services for Sale of Digital Content on Mobile Devices
Tokyo – October 15, 2008 – GMO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION, provider of the Digital Contents King digital content sales ASP service and consolidated subsidiary of GMO System Consulting, announces two new services set to be launched on November 1.
Digital Contents King for Mobile and Mobile Shonin are ASP services for the sale of digital content on mobile phones. Early registration for the two services begins today.
Digital Contents King for Mobile makes it possible to sell video content for mobile phones while Mobile Shonin facilitates the sale of general file downloads for mobile phones.
The launch of these services marks GMO DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION’s entry into the mobile market.

Digital Contents King for Mobile
Digital Contents King for Mobile is an ASP service for the fast and easy sale of video content from mobile sites.
Digital Contents King for Mobile: Features
(1) An easy-to-operate user interface.
A custom i-appli application is required to view purchased videos. The easy-to-operate viewing environment uses VIVID Movie by Acrodea, an experienced developer of embedded software for mobile handsets.
In addition to fast access to downloaded files, the custom application also allows users to manage a list of sites from which they have downloaded. In the recommended sites list users can find mobile sites that offer video compatible with the i-appli.
(2) A full range of functions for managing content sales on mobile sites.
Two methods available for charging users; pay-per-download and fixed monthly fees.
*Payment methods available: Accept pay-per-download payments by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB) or BitCash. Accept fixed monthly payments by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB).
(3) Bundle multiple video files as one product (Album function).
Bundle together a series of video content files and sell them as a single product.
(4) Offer “rental” content by restricting the number of times a file can be played or by setting time limitations.
Like the PC version of Digital Contents King, in the mobile version licenses can be set to become invalid at a specific day and time, after a set period of time or after a set number of views. It is also possible to offer “rental content” by restricting the period in which the file is viewable and charging per view.
(5) Require users to register their e-mail addresses at the time of download and use the acquired e-mail addresses in marketing activities.
This service includes a function that makes it possible to allow mobile users to download free content after registering their e-mail address. E-mail addresses acquired when offering downloads can be used in marketing activities. It is also possible to automatically direct the user to a specified site at the end of the video. Redirect users to sites offering content-related merchandising.
Mobile Shonin
Mobile Shonin is a file sales platform available as an ASP service for the sale of general files downloadable to mobile devices.
Mobile Shonin: Features
(1) Mobile file sales: get started right away.
Billing and payment processing can be carried out from the one time URL (*1) used for file downloads. This service is ideal for content providers that offer content viewable on a mobile phone.
(*1) A one time URL is a URL accessed by the user to download a file. A URL is issued for each user and is disposed of once it has been accessed.
(2) Online payment processing: easy to use.
Files registered as products can be downloaded from the one time URL issued after payment is processed. Payments are processed online giving mobile users fast access to the files they want.
* Payment methods available: Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB), BitCash
(3) Use for marketing activities: require users to register their e-mail address when downloading free content.
This service includes a function that makes it possible to allow mobile users to download free content after registering their e-mail address. E-mail addresses acquired when offering downloads can be used in marketing activities.
