Paperboy&co. Introduces PostAssist for Free Blog Service JUGEM
Review feature provides a system for users to review their favorite products

  • GMO Pepabo, Inc.

Tokyo – January 29, 2007 -- The GMO Internet group company paperboy&co. today introduced the new PostAssist to free blog service, JUGEM.

The JUGEM blog service was launched in February 2004 and since then has attracted over 330,000 bloggers, particularly women, from teenage girls to women in their thirties. Paperboy&co. aims to improve user experience and increase the number of active users by offering posting ideas and community tools through PostAssist.

Post Assist
PostAssist introduces a blog channel (recipes, reviews etc.) selection function to the upload screen offering a more user-friendly blog posting environment. Each channel has its own screen format. The user posts an entry by switching to their chosen channel. We will continue to add channels like the ideas channel that gives bloggers suggestions for topics to blog about.

Review Channel
The first channel on Post Assist offers a chance for users to post product reviews on their blogs. Using the review channel bloggers can introduce products sold at Amazon.com or the paperboy&co. online shopping mall Calamel. The posting form provides space to enter the product name, evaluation and review. A product search function has also been set up making it possible to search for a product to review from the JUGEM administration screen. Reviews will also be published on MonoColle, the JUGEM product search feature.

New Channels to be added this Spring
A recipe channel and a baton channel for PostAssist are also being developed for release this spring. We will continue to add other channels in response to user demand.

Recipe Channel
Introduce your favorite recipes simply by entering the recipe name, ingredients and instructions into the posting form. Recipes will appear on the JUGEM user recipe list that will be searchable by recipe name or ingredient. Comments and trackback can be added to recipes, and extracts from recipes may also be may also be included in postings.

Baton Channel
The baton is a list of questions on a specific theme to which the user posts answers on their blog or website and then like a baton, passes the list of questions onto a friend. The PostAssist baton channel facilitates baton (question list) creation and posting of answers for JUGEM users. Users can post a baton on their blog simply by selecting a theme from the registered baton list and entering answers to the questions. We are also looking at creating a list of popular batons and a space where users can see how their friends answered questions.

PostAssist blog channel posts will be searchable by channel ensuring a search that returns results that are of most interest to the user. We are also considering other features that use this kind of information to promote communication between users.

Under the concept PostCommunication, promoting communication through blogging, JUGEM strives to develop features that make the blog a true communication tool.
