Contest Announced to Celebrate Over 500,000 Lolipop! Rental Server Users
Tokyo - May 22, 2007 -- Lolipop! Rental Server, the rental server service for individuals operated by GMO Internet Group company, paperboy&co. this month has achieved user numbers that exceed 500,000. To celebrate this milestone we announce the opening today of the Lolipop! 500,000 User Celebration. Four Frame Manga Artist and Writers’ Competition.
Lolipop! Rental Server is a paperboy&co. hosting service for individuals that was launched in November 2001. A hosting service with wide appeal, it is an ideal choice for individual users with monthly fees as low as 263 yen a month. Our launch of this service changed the direction of an individual hosting service industry that at the time was largely made up of free services with advertising.
The easy-to-use Lolipop! Rental Server service offers a wide range of free options including a web site building tool, rental CGI, simple shopping cart and blog tools. We have created a simple, low-cost web site building environment.

About the Lolipop! 500,000 User Celebration Contest
To celebrate the achievement of gaining over 500,000 users, between today and June 21 we are holding the Lolipop! 500,000 User Celebration Four Frame Manga Artist and Writers’ Competition. In the Four Frame Manga Artist division submissions will be accepted of four frame manga created using the Four Frame Manga Generator being released in conjunction with this competition. Entries will be screened by our judging panel and then submitted to a popular vote. In the Writers' Competition submissions of sad stories, funny stories or any kind of creative writing are being accepted. Entries in this division will also be screened by our judging panel and then submitted to a popular vote. Outstanding work will receive prizes including cash prizes, QUO cards and free web site accounts.
Four Frame Manga Generator is a tool that anyone can use to create four frame manga using the drawings of famous illustrators including Yusaku Hanakuma and Katsuki Tanaka. Manga created using Four Frame Manga Generator can be pasted into a blog or website.
