GMO Internet Group Establishes Internet Technology Research & Development Base in Hanoi, Vietnam
New R&D company, GMO Vietnam Lab Center to further develop the GMO Internet Group’s core strength in Technology
Hanoi, Vietnam – March 26, 2013, GMO Internet, Inc. in cooperation with, Vietnam-based GMO RUNSYSTEM CORPORATION, today announced that new Internet technology research and development company, GMO VIETNAM LAB CENTER CO., LTD was established this month in Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi.
GMO Internet Group company, GMO RUNSYSTEM is a systems development and mobile content company with a workforce is drawn largely from the elite Hanoi University of Science & Technology. The company provides development support to GMO Internet Group’s smartphone and social business segment, and provides web infrastructure services to the Vietnam market, including domain registration service, TENTEN.vn launched in April 2012.
GMO RUNSYSTEM works closely with GMO Internet’s Innovation and Technology System Office. The Innovation and Technology team drives the Group’s research and development in Internet technology, and has played a key role in the launch and operation of some of the Group’s major services.
GMO LAB CENTER is being established to further build on the engineer exchange, skills development, and R&D programs already in place in the two companies.
GMO VIETNAM LAB CENTER, in close collaboration with GMO Internet’s Innovation and Technology System Office, will develop systems for new GMO Internet Group businesses, and conduct R&D in Internet technologies including cloud computing and big data analytics.
