GMO Internet Launches Vietnamese Domain Name Registration Service, TENTEN.vn, with Local Group Company, RunSystem
April 23, 2012 – Hanoi, Vietnam – GMO Internet today announces the opening of TENTEN.vn, a new domain registration service for the Vietnam market. TenTen.vn is being launched through Vietnam based GMO Internet Group company, RunSystem Corporation.
Going forward the two companies plan to introduce more infrastructure services in Vietnam, for the consumer market.
Vietnam has a population of over 80 million, and an Internet penetration rate over 36%, the result of a government-led initiative introduced in 1995 to grow Internet usage. By 2020, Vietnam’s goal is to have Information and Communication Technology expenditure (ICT) account for 8-10% of its total GDP. Further, a six-point program aimed at growing ICT, and backed by Prime Ministerial ordinance, plans to expand broadband into rural areas, develop the nation’s Information Technology industry, and foster development of multimedia companies.
GMO Internet, through Group company, RunSystem, introduces its consumer Internet infrastructure services to the Vietnam market with the objective of making a contribution to the country’s nationwide Internet growth initiative.
Following the launch of domain registration service, TENTEN.vn, GMO Internet, working with RunSystem will introduce new services onto the market based on the proven expertise of GMO Internet in Japan.

TENTEN.vn, provided in Vietnam by RunSystem, is a domain name registration service based on leading Japanese service, Onamae.com. TenTen and Onamae are the words for “name” in Vietnamese and Japanese respectively.
About RunSystem
Established May 4, 2005 in Hanoi, Vietnam, the systems development, and mobile content company’s workforce is drawn largely from the elite Hanoi University of Science & Technology. RunSystem joined GMO Internet Group in June 2011, and with its technical and development strength supports the Group’s Smartphone content development business. The company plans to change its name to GMO RunSystem in August this year.
