Tokyo – April 14, 2010 -- GMO Payment Gateway strategic subsidiary and provider of card-not-present credit card payment processing services for social applications, Social Appli Payment Service, Inc. today announces that the company’s SaaS model Social App Payment Processing Service in July will be added as a new payment method to WebMoney, the emoney service by WebMoney Corporation.
SAPS is the provider of Social App Payment Processing Service a service that was launched to promote growth in the social application market.
 
Background
Social applications are games, tools, and other applications operated in a social networking service (SNS) environment that leverage the user communication and exchange aspects of the community space. Social apps are estimated to have generated over 1 trillion yen in Europe, and in Japan, where they only began to emerge in the past year, user numbers are already growing rapidly and the market is expanding. As the market grows, paid social apps have begun to emerge and gain popularity and we recognized the need for a specialized convenient and secure payment processing service.

App developers who choose to implement the Social App Payment Processing Service will now be able to begin accepting credit card payments in approximately two weeks, and have a simple option for implementing WebMoney processing. We will be offering the most competitive WebMoney usage fees and screening standards to ensure a positive experience for both user app developer and app user, and to contribute to the further growth of the social application industry.
SAPS aims to provide the Social Apps Payment Processing service to 100 companies within a year and together with WebMoney Corp. aim to expand the use of WebMoney in the social app market place.
