GMO Internet to Hold Second Public Lecture Series
“Conditions for Venture Business Success” at Waseda University

Tokyo – April 5, 2007 --GMO Internet and Waseda University presents the 2007 public lecture series[†] Conditions for Venture Business Success Series II. The thirteen-part lecture series beginning April 12 will be held at the Waseda University Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies.
The lectures are open to students of other universities as well as the general public. Please complete an application in advance if you would like to attend.

Series Title: Public Lecture Series 2: Conditions for Venture Business Success
Outline:Twelve leaders of successful business ventures have been invited to speak on the trials and conflicts they encountered on the road to success and their outlook to the future. Last year speakers included CyberAgent CEO, Susumu Fujita, USEN CEO, Yasuhide Uno and DeNA CEO, Tomoko Namba.
Entrepreneurs who have built real venture businesses will speak about their philosophy, vision, leadership and future outlook on business in a 90-minute lecture and Q&A format.
This is a unique opportunity to hear from those who truly represent venture business in Japan about the dreams they held, the business they established, the fruits of their labors and the full story of their success.
The lecture series will explore a range of themes from an academic viewpoint including the ideal business model for development and growth, effective use of internal resources, best practices in e-business, the Death Valley Curve and other obstacles that a business must overcome in the development phase. It will also look at how to overcome those obstacles, analyze the qualities of a leader that brings about dynamic growth and development and examine the role of the CIO (Chief Information Officer).
