GMO HOSTING & SECURITY to Offer SaaS Remote Malware Monitoring and Detection on Web Hosting Platforms in Partnership with Armorize Technologies

Tokyo – March 11, 2009 – GMO Internet Group Company, GMO HOSTING & SECURITY in partnership with Armorize Technologies Inc. will introduce Armorize malware(*1) remote monitoring and detection SaaS solutions to GMO-HS web hosting services in early April from prices beginning at just 2,625 yen per month (inc. tax). To highlight the dangers of malware, a free three-month remote detection and notification service will be released on the same day.

Background to the Service Launch
Malicious attacks on web sites are on the increase. Compromised sites may direct visitors to sites that infect their computers with malware or steal confidential data and files. In 2008 damage caused by malware aimed at vulnerable sites occurred once every 4.5 seconds. Ninety per cent of victims were lured from the websites of well known corporations, government organizations and educational institutions. (*2)
When visitors infected by malware at a corporate website, weaknesses in the company’s risk management framework are exposed and trust is damaged. This could result in warnings being displayed against the company’s website in search engine results listings, and cause potentially serious damage to the web site’s ability to attract visitors.
Entering into a partnership with award-winning web application security provider, Armorize is part of the GMO-HS commitment to providing secure hosting services.

The Partnership
Armorize malware remote monitoring and detection solutions are used worldwide. Under the partnership, GMO-HS adds the SaaS malware monitoring and detection service to its business web hosting platforms. Armorize remotely monitors hosted websites. When injected malware is detected, it identifies the exact location (page) of the infection and immediately generates a notification, enabling administrators to react immediately, minimizing potential damage.
