MakeTrans - the New Online Store Translation Solution

  • Makeshop

Tokyo – March 8, 2007 - - GMO Internet Group company MakeShop in conjunction with Korean net shop construction ASP service developer, Korea Center, introduces the new MakeTrans. MakeTrans is a net shop construction service with an automatic Korean/Japanese translation function, the first service of its kind in Japan. MakeTrans will initially be made available to Korean NetShop operators by KoreaCenter.com.

MakeTrans is an e-commerce solution for net shop administrators in both Japan and Korea that makes it possible to develop a net shop that transcends language barriers between Korea and Japan by providing automatic translation of online store content and payment processing transactions. MakeShop and KoreaCenter.com developed this service in response to demand from Japanese and Korean net shop administrators that wanted to cater to net shoppers in each others countries. Consumers in both countries will be able to purchase products they can’t get through existing distribution channels in their own markets.
Before being released in Japan, MakeTrans (Korean Version) the Japanese language net shop construction service will be launched in Korea targeting the Korean net shop administrators including the 80,000 online stores that use the Korean version of MakeShop operated jointly with Korea Center.com.

MakeShop (Korean Version)
MakeTrans (Korean Version) is a Japanese language net shop construction and payment processing service for the Korean domestic market distributed by Korea Center.com. Korean net shop administrators that don’t speak Japanese can still target the Japanese market by using MakeTrans. Shop administrators enter information in Korean from the administration screen to create a Japanese language net shop. Not only does the service handle product information and order management, it also offers automatic translation of Japanese language inquiries via bulletin board or e-mail.
Japanese consumers can purchase Korean products through Japanese language net shops as well as have all their inquiries handled in Japanese. Payment processing is handled by eBank and net shop administrators can designate the account to which their net shop earnings will be transferred. This is a system that will appeal to both Japanese consumers and Korean store operators.

MakeShop (Japanese Version) Korean Language Net Shop Construction
MakeShop is further developing the service and will release MakeTrans (Japanese Version) this summer. The Japanese version will be a Korean language net shop construction solution for net shop administrators in Japan, including the 4,000 stores operated through MakeShop.
We aim to create a shopping portal between the two countries by encouraging the expansion of online shopping so that customers on both sides of the Korean Strait have better access to the products they want to purchase.
