Giving Children a Chance to Read a Good Book: JWord Click Fundraising Program Now Seeking Elementary Schools to Receive Books

Tokyo – February 12, 2008 – GMO Internet Group company JWord, the company that operates the Japanese search tool of the same name, announces that the second Giving Children a Chance to Read a Good Book community click fundraising initiative, is set to reach its one million yen fundraising target in early April. We are now accepting applications from elementary schools that would like to receive book donations. (Giving Children a Chance to Read a Good Book is supported by Asa no Dokusho Suishin Kyougi [Morning Reading Program])

Seeking Elementary Schools to Receive Book Donations

This fundraising initiative encourages children to read by donating books to elementary schools. Now in its second cycle, the program expects to reach its one million yen fundraising target in early April. We will be donating 200,000 yen worth of books each to five schools in five designated areas across Japan. We are now seeking applications from schools that would like to receive book donations.
In this cycle of the program we will be donating books according to the wishes of selected schools. Please visit the Giving Children a Chance to Read a Good Book official site for details. We will also be posting a fundraising report on the site.
JWord and participating companies will bear all book purchasing costs associated with the click-fundraising campaign so there is absolutely no cost to the clicker! We are asking all users to keep clicking until we reach the one million yen target.
