Preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus and the impact on the customer support
Tokyo, Japan – March 13, 2020 – Because of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, GMO Internet Group (https://www.gmo.jp/en/ ) has instructed employees (partners) working at the offices in Shibuya, Osaka, and Fukuoka to work from home in principle, to continue business and secure the safety of all of our partners who support the Group. Some of the partners working at the offices in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Sapporo City, Hokkaido Prefecture have been working from home since late February as well.
Partners at customer support centers who are working out of offices in Miyazaki, Kitakyushu, and Sapporo Cities would begin working from home from Monday, March 16, 2020, considering the spread of the novel coronavirus infection. Partners at the office in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture will begin working from home when it is ready.
As a result, some of GMO Internet Group’s services will shrink the capacity of the call centers (the customer support via phone call) and support customers mainly via e-mail, and therefore, busy phone lines are anticipated at the call centers and it might take more time than usual before we answer inquiries from customers. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
