Background
In 2011, Kyoto city plans to embark on an extensive project to restore national treasures including Ninomaru Palace (part of Nijo Castle) and other cultural assets. The city aims to preserve world heritage listed site and former imperial residence, Nijo Castle as an important asset not only to Japan but for the entire world. Nijo castle was built in 1603 by Tokugawa Ieyasu. This major restoration project is expected to take twenty years and to encompass all historical buildings within the site including twenty-eight structures listed as cultural assets.
Kyoto city aims to raise 5 billion yen over twenty-one years (2010 – 2030) through the World Heritage Nijo Castle Fundraising Campaign targeting both citizens and tourists. Donations will be accepted from October 2, 2010.

The public sector, yet to fully adopt a credit card payment option, is estimated to receive payments worth between 20 trillion yen and 50 trillion yen. We expect the introduction of credit card payment in this field to further expand the credit card market, improve efficiency in the public sector and offer greater convenience for the user.
