paperboy&co. Launches BookLog iPhone Application

Tokyo – March 15, 2010 – GMO Internet Group company paperboy&co. today launches an iPhone application for its book review community, BookLog.

BookLog: Book Review Community
BookLog is an online book review community featuring a bookshelf interface that allows users to display books, CDs, DVDs and other items. One of the biggest communities of its kind in Japan, BookLog’s 230,000 users have displayed over 13 million items.
Today’s launch of the BookLog iPhone application aims to further broaden the book review community.
Manage your bookshelf and review books anywhere, anytime!
Like the PC and mobile versions of BookLog, the BookLog iPhone application allows users to post reviews and register books, CDs, DVDs, and other items. Find a book to read wherever you are, check out other users’ bookshelves and read reviews before purchasing books.
Barcode reader: add books fast
The BookLog iPhone application enables users to add books by using the barcode to read the ISBN code printed on the back of a book. Unlike the mobile version of the service, there is no need to email the barcode to a specified address making adding books from the iPhone application even easier.

The future of BookLog: more than a reading community, a space for creative expression
Beginning this spring, paperboy&co. plans to expand the service beyond its current virtual bookshelf and book review features to provide a forum where users will be able to share their own works of fiction, manga, photography collections and more. Unlike existing book review communities, BookLog strives to foster development in the e-book market while offering users the opportunity to discover work not available in bookstores, and provide a forum for creative expression.
